Dr. Jeffrey Sicat is a physician with Virginia Weight and Wellness, a unique, concierge style medical practice in Richmond, Virginia specializing in weight loss medicine to improve health, and to prevent and treat weight related medical conditions such as diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, infertility, and fatigue.

Originally from Short Hills, New Jersey, he attended Williams College (Williamstown, Massachusetts) where he majored in Biology and minored in Studio Art and was a member of the Williams College Track and Soccer Teams.

He obtained his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia - Virginia Commonwealth University (MCV-VCU) in Richmond, Virginia.  He remained at VCU to complete his Internal Medicine Residency training and afterwards completed his sub-specialty fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism

Upon completion of his endocrinology sub-specialty training in 2004, he co-founded the Virginia Endocrinology and Osteoporosis Center, a medical practice specializing in diabetes, thyroid conditions, and other glandular and metabolic conditions.

During the early part of his seven years as a practicing endocrinologist, Dr. Sicat developed an interest in helping his patients achieve weight loss to treat diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, joint pains, and infertility.  He witnessed the dramatic improvements in these conditions as his patients were often able to reduce or discontinue multiple medications previously required to treat these conditions.  But more than anything, he witnessed the dramatic improvement in overall well-being and personal health in each of his patients.

Thus sprouted his passion for the field of medical weight loss (bariatric medicine).  After several years of additional extensive training in bariatric medicine, he passed the written and oral boards, and then a national site review of his Richmond practice, and he became board certified in Obesity (Bariatric) Medicine in 2009.

He founded Virginia Weight and Wellness
in 2011.

At Virginia Weight and Wellness, Dr. Sicat fully appreciates the many complicated factors contributing to weight gain and recognizes the impact of weight on one's overall health and well-being, and he works with you to come up with an effective, individualized plan to help you achieve successful, long term weight loss.
